Studying
Getting through a course designed for a different kind of brain — and the support you are entitled to.

In one minute
Education is often where ADHD first becomes visible and where it costs the most. Long lectures, self-directed reading, months-long deadlines, revision that depends on sitting still with dull material. Bright people with ADHD routinely underperform at university, then blame themselves.
Two things help most. External structure — deadlines that feel real, places and times to work, people to work alongside — because the structure school provided has gone. And the formal support you are entitled to: extra time, extensions, specialist mentoring, software, most of it funded.
If you are a mature student, or studying alongside work, all of this still applies. It is not just for eighteen-year-olds.
