In the UK, ADHD will usually count as a disability under the Equality Act 2010 if it has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities. Where it does, your employer has a legal duty to make reasonable adjustments.

You do not need a formal diagnosis to request adjustments — but having one makes the conversation much easier and gives your employer something concrete to act on.

Access to Work is a separate government scheme that can fund coaching, software and equipment beyond what your employer provides. You apply yourself; you do not need your employer to do it for you.
